I wear this top when it is super hot over my fun summer bralettes and bikini tops.  It would be great for any summertime festival or concert.

Since it is my first pattern ever, I am offering it for free, but please be gentle with your comments!  I would love to know if you tried it and how it turned out.

I based it on this image: http://crochetpatternstotry.blogspot.com/2016/06/piper-crochet-singlet-by-arnhem-how-to.html

I tried to follow the pattern there and was very disappointed, so I thought I would try to write my own.

I would love to hear from anyone who tries this pattern.  It is only in one size, though – a small/medium.  It is pretty flowy and forgiving, but it would not be appropriate for an Xl,  I imagine, though, repeating the pattern row increases a couple more times would widen it at the bottom and thus accomodate a larger size.

The pattern works up pretty quickly (takes me about 2 evenings of a few hours to complete the whole thing) so give it a try!

Materials:

I used 2 skeins of Loops and Threads Joy DK Tricot Double yarn (I can’t stress how much I LOVE this yarn!) with a 5mm hook.

Each skein has 273 yards and I had some left over, but it will depend on how long you make the tassels at the end.

AND HERE WE GOOOOOOOO!

Chain 46

FRONT
1. “Lattice stitch:” dc 4th chain from hook, chain one, skip chain, dc in next chain (22 dc, 1 turning chain and 21 chain 1 space)
2. Chain 4, tr in chain 1 space, (tr in next dc, tr in chain 1 space)* until last dc. Tr in dc then tr in third chain of turning chain space. (43 tr and chain space)
3-7. Chain 4. 2 tr in next tr. Tr in each tr to second to last tr. 2 tr, then tr in last tr (increase each row by 2)
8. Chain 2. sc in next tr and until the last tr. Sc (54 sc)
9. Chain 3, 2 hdc in next sc. Hdc in each sc to end (55 hdc and turn chain)
10. Chain 2, sc in first hdc, sc in each hdc to end. Sc in 3rd chain of turn chain (55 sc and turn chain)

BACK
Repeat rows 1-4
Repeat row 8 (48 sc)
Repeat row 9 (50 hdc)
Repeat row 10 (50 sc)

Tack back to front at sides, weave in ends.
Lattice stitch around bottom
Single Crochet around bottom

STRAPS
Chain 45 (more or less depending on how scooped you want it, keeping in mind the following row will bring it up at the neckline and around the arms.

NECKLINE
1. Working the inside neckline and straps, continuously sc in each dc and sc in each chain 1
2. Slip stitch to first sc, chain 3. Dc in each sc
3. Slip stitch to first dc, Chain 1. Sc in each sc.
4. Fasten off and weave in ends

ARMHOLES
1. Working on the inside of the armholes, evenly sc along the armhole and up the strap, careful not to twist the strap.

TASSELS

Tassels are pretty straightforward.  You can see a great tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIdaRYWb11A

You can make it as long as you’d like, but because it is a short top, I would suggest at least 10 inches (so each yarn thread will be 20 inches)

ENJOY!!
